Life Bridge Anniversary Celebration THIS SUNDAY!

Sunday, September 24th, 2017 4-8pm

Come celebrate 14 years of Life Bridge as we join down on the land (2 miles south of US30 on St. Rt. 2)!

What to expect?  Chili, S'mores, Bonfire (yeah, we realize it’s like 90 degrees outside… who would have thought?… and it’s still fun!), prayer walk, acoustic worship, and more!

Celebrating Students Who “Leveled Up”

This past Sunday, we had a great time of celebrating students who moved up into Middle School/Jr. High, High School, College and life at our First Annual “Leveling Up” Life Celebration.  We recognized 15 students and their families as we came together to reaffirm faith and commitments to growing in our walks with God.

It is important to take opportunities along the way to pause and celebrate not just the physical accomplishments of our kids, but also the spiritual. It is also important to prepare them for the challenges of this next stage of life, and to remind them that they are not alone; there are many people who love them and desire to help them walk with God through each challenge.

This is the reason we are offering the first ever “Leveling Up” Life Celebration on Sunday, June 11^th at 4pm. This will be a relaxed celebration of the families and friends of those who are “Leveling Up” in life at this time: Entering Middle School, High School, College, and Adult Life.

All are invited to celebrate and support students taking these steps.

Join us for a time of Communion and Worship as we reflect on Christ’s sacrifice through the sharing of scripture and original music from the Resurrection Suite. 

This is a family event. Activity packets will be available to parents for their children, to assist kids in their learning and reflection.

Resurrection Sunday (Easter) April 16th 9am & 11 am

Come celebrate the reason for the season and the core of our faith.  Jesus is alive!
Bring family and friends and let’s celebrate our Lord together.  HE IS RISEN!

Tuesday, June 14th we went up to Lake Michigan to baptize Shannon and Chuck.  We are joining the angels in heaven as we celebrate their spiritual day of birth into the family of God! 

Please keep them both in prayer as they begin this new walk together with God.

Celebrating a Weekend of Service

It was a weekend of service June 4th-5th as we did Feed the Need at Portage and Valpo Town N’ Country Stores, worked on the Life Bridge building, and then boxed and distributed the Feed the Need donations to 5 local pantries!

Intentional Valparaiso is a young adult community in Valparaiso, Indiana that provides opportunities to serve others, develop in your faith, and live in community with other believers.  We are blessed to have Life Bridge as a main hub for several events and studies.

We are excited that we get to continue to support and encourage one another in ministry as they launch Vagabond Cafe later this month from our own cafe! (That’s what the changes are about!)

God Sightings

This blog is used to share opportunities to experience God by engaging in service and community.  We try not to stop there, but to also share with you what God is doing through these events and all around us.  This past week Life Bridge hosted In Concert on Friday night and a Spring Spruce Up on Saturday.

Celebrations!

Circles of Grace Hilltop Dinner kicks off at Life Bridge!

Over 35 people came to enjoy a taco dinner this past Friday and to enjoy connecting with the community.  These dinners are about making life a little easier for some in our community, but also about building relationships in which our neighbors can see Christ through those who serve. 

These dinners take place the 2nd Friday of each month courtesy of Circles of Grace, based out of Kouts Christian Church.  Join in to help create a welcoming environment at Life Bridge for our neighbors.The next dinner will be on Friday, April 8th.

Pamper Night Honors Women

For the past 10 years we have loved the ladies and children of the local battered women’s shelter with an event called Pamper Night.  With a summer luau theme, March 5 we showered 7 ladies and 3 kids with the love of Christ, giving them ultimate pampering.  Everything was supplied from donations of time, gifts and services by people right here in our church and surrounding community.  They were treated to limo transportation, dinner, childcare, manicures, pedicures, makeup, hair cut & style, live entertainment, dancing and lots of gifts for them to continue feeling beautiful long after this event.  

Thank you to all the volunteers for their time in planning, prepping, caring & loving.  Thanks to all those who donated and helped to provide the gifts and food to make it extra special.  Thanks to Thrivent Financial for the Action Team box of supplies, t-shirts and cash donation.  God is good.  

Celebrating Our First Grill Out of the Season!

This past Sunday we had our first grill out of the season!  These lunches are being well received by all. 

There was much more than great food going on as we enjoyed burgers, hot dogs, and all the culinary gifts with which God has endowed His body.  As we eat and indulge in one another's company, conversations are taking place, relationships are being strengthened, and the body of Christ is being built up!

Thanks to all who provided food, served in its preparation and cleanup.  Also thanks to all who willingly enter conversations and allow God to use you to be an encouragement to someone. 
It is a beautiful thing to watch how God works!
