Feed the Need is an annual event where we partner with Valpo Town & Country and other area churches to invite our community to join us in feeding those in need.  We stand at the doors and hand out flyers that list items that are being collected.  The flyers also invite them to purchase items on the list and drop them in receptacles on their way out.  We organize them in the truck.

If you like to talk with people, you can serve at the doors, but if you prefer being more behind the scenes, then organizing items on the truck may be more your thing!  Regardless, there is something for everyone!

Feed the Need Boxing – Life Bridge Christian Church

We will be organizing the items that have been donated to be distributed to local food pantries.  Weather permitting we will be doing this on our front lawn.  Volunteers should be 10 year old or older for lifting and sorting categories.  Lunch is provided for volunteers.

Celebrating a Weekend of Service

It was a weekend of service June 4th-5th as we did Feed the Need at Portage and Valpo Town N’ Country Stores, worked on the Life Bridge building, and then boxed and distributed the Feed the Need donations to 5 local pantries!

Sunday, June 5th

Life Bridge Christian Church 1pm-6pm (Help for all or part!)

All are welcome! Plan on joining us for this simple, yet fun family friendly service project!
Beginning at 1pm:

• A simple lunch will be served
• Set up of tables, boxes, etc. will be organized
• Food sorted and boxed, and divided among the pantries
• Pantry pick up is scheduled for 5pm!

Feed the Need Boxing–A New Opportunity!

Sunday, June 5th

Life Bridge Christian Church 1pm-5pm

In the past after Feed the Need has taken place at Town and Country, Student Ministry has gone up to NWI Food Bank to organize and package the food items that have been donated.  With about 20 people we have often complete the sorting of the largest single day donation in about 2 hours.

This year we are doing something different and all are welcome (elementary kids need to be accompanied by a supervising adult)!  As in the past the monetary donations will once again go to the NWI Food Bank who can do far more to feed those in need, but the actual food items will be boxed at Life Bridge and distributed to 4 local food pantries.  These pantries can often do more to meet needs as they have ongoing relationships with the people they serve.  This has the added benefit of pantries distributing food in the name of Jesus and spreading His love. 

Go God!  May this event feed both the body and the soul!

Volunteers Needed in both Valpo and Portage

Can you volunteer an hour on Saturday for the biggest one-day food drive in Northwest Indiana? The event lasts from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., but most open time slots are after 4:00 p.m.  Several slots are still open.  To volunteer, go to VolunteerSpot and enter your email address -- no need to register.

Feed the Need is Less than a Month Away
Feed the Need is June 7th at Town & Country in both Valpo and Portage.  This ministry benefits the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, which serves Lake and Porter Counties.  Volunteers will be offering lists of needed items to store patrons as they enter and collecting items on-site as patrons leave from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Other roles also are needed.

Life Bridge, Portage, and South Haven Christian Churches will be working together for Feed the Need.  Food collection will occur on June 7th at Town & Country in Portage and Valpo and will run approximately from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The drive benefits the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana in Gary, which serves Lake and Porter Counties.  Additional information about the Food Bank can be found online.  



You will be able to volunteer for this ministry through We.ImagineLifeDifferently.com four weeks in advance. 

Crazy Changes

The past few months have challenged us as we walked through "Crazy Love."  Chan has challenged us through God's Word to stretch far beyond what we considered "normal" Christian living.  In fact, we've learned to see "normal" as "lukewarm" and learned to see "crazy" as the new normal.  The changes is starting to show.
