Behind the Scenes

While 2013 has had several projects that were large and visible, the year has been primarily filled with behind-the-scenes work at Life Bridge.  In 2014, we will begin to see the fruit of this quiet work as more and more pieces of the path are implemented and available to empower you.

Join us this weekend (9:30 or 11:00 a.m.) as we imagine together what God has planned for us in 2014.

Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. (Colossians 2:7-8 NLT)

See you then!

We're Going Crazy

The past eight weeks Life Bridge has embarked on a journey through Crazy Love, a book by Francis Chan. (We've even been ordering the "slightly imperfect" books because they seem to fit us.)

The journey has been amazing.

I've had the pleasure of watching this part of His Body change over the past couple months.  They're "going crazy."

Stop Praying

What would you do if I told you to stop praying?  This Sunday, that's exactly what I'm going to tell you to do.  Join us at 9:30am or 11:00am to find out why!

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe...  (Hebrews 12:28 NIV)

Have you ever thought about the extent of God's love for you?  It's crazy, isn't it?

This week we will begin a new series based on Francis Chan's book entitled, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God.
I hope you can make it to services this Sunday, where we will be describing ways you can eXperience the Love of God and be eMpowered to eMpower one more.

See you then!

Invite a Friend!

Hey everyone!

Remember that this Sunday is invite-a-friend week.  Don't forget to come and bring yours!
With the time change this weekend, they even get an extra hour of sleep. ;)

I'm so looking forward to seeing God at work this weekend!

Time Changes!

Time Changes!

As a member of the communication team, I’m using this as a reminder to set your clocks back 1 hour on Saturday night before you go to bed. It is also a time to not only change the batteries in your smoke detectors, but to recharge

A Day of Praise

I got to "see" God all day long.  From the moment I arrived at the fairgrounds, I was met by a friend who was there to help set up technical equipment.  We served together side by side as we shared stories of other times we had seen God at work.  People arrived one by one and began setting up band equipment, sound boards, tables for "coffee bar" and "programs."  God's Spirit was in the air.

We began our church service a little after nine.  The worship was awesome; the message, right on point: Lord, let us be one.  We were.  Finishing with a final song provided, for us, a sense of "home" even when out on the fairgrounds with no tables and chairs.

Then it happened.  We realized that the crowd was filled with much more than Life Bridge.  Another church had come to join us in worship.  Yet another church was there for the end of our service, preparing for theirs at 10:15.  Open Door Fellowship set up for their time of worship.  We shared equipment.  We sang His praises together.  We listened to a different message that was, strangely, the same.  The preaching was Biblical.  The testimonies were powerful.  God was working in and through others' lives.  Praise God!

Then the set up took place for the next group, and the next, and the next.  Different churches, groups, and individuals too the stage; one after another.  Each of them was praising God with their own musical talent.  Sometimes we were invited to sing along.  Sometimes we were simply captivated and drawn into worship in our hearts.  God was Glorified.  We were His Body.  We were one - each one doing his own part.

Yes, it truly was a day of praise.

Participate in The Fair

It's fun to watch God working in and through His People.  On Sunday, we opened up a web site where people could learn more and sign up to help at the Porter County Fair. Look what happened!

A Student's Walk

Yesterday we brought some of the CIY students up front as a part of the church service.  We prayed for them.  Last evening, I was around during the student ministry time together.  I enjoyed watching them hanging out, playing games, and growing closer to God through worship & Scripture.  They are learning how to be men and women of God.

Today the CIY group gathered together here at the building and went out on their trip.  We prayed together before they left.

I see God at work in them.  Some of them are facing some pretty big stuff in their lives.  God is bigger.  I'm praying that they see Him in big, awesome, powerful ways this week.  I'm praying it doesn't stop there.  I'm asking God to make them into Kingdom Workers.  Will you pray for that, too?

"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." (Luke 10:2 NIV)

Worship

A couple months ago, soon after we held some vision meetings, we had a technology fallout.  Our church contact database got corrupted.  Our two websites (www.ImagineLifeDifferently.com and www.LifeBridgeAlive.com) got taken down. Our ability to post weekend services was lost.
God knew what He was doing, though.  As we rebuild each system, we are able to increase the quality of each.  We're rebuilding the web sites.  Our daily devotions, blogs, and a new newsletter are going out. Now, we can enjoy worship services on Youtube!  This makes it easier to watch on any electronic device.
Go God!  Thank you for our new online worship!!!

Prayer, Share, & Care

The people in the cafe on Sunday afternoons aren't paid to be there. They're not spiritual giants.  They don't have the Bible memorized.
They do, however, desire to build up the Body of Christ. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. (1 Corinthians 12:27 NIV)

So, they get together and pray for you. They learn how to better share God's Word.  They grow stronger in their own walk.

They build up The Body because they care.
