Fight Club - FAQs

Fight Club FAQs

Someone mentioned wives.  Is Fight Club only for men who are married?

No.  Fight Club is for all men, ages eighteen and up.  In fact, you can be seventeen when Fight Club begins -- you need only turn eighteen during the twelve-week challenge.

What exactly is Fight Club?

Fight Club is a men's discipleship resource developed by men, for men, to reach men -- to turn the tide of mediocrity and to cause men to stand and say, "Not on my watch!"  It carries a flavor of what men desire -- camaraderie, competition, and challenge.  It pushes men to keep up and to reach new levels with Jesus.  Not every man who starts will finish, as it contains a three-strikes rule.  Men will link arms in real accountability and will be able to spur one another on to good works.

Do I have to commit before coming to Fight Club?

No.  Valpo Fight Club begins Friday, March 14th, at 11:55 p.m. at Valparaiso Nazarene Church.  This first meeting is designed to give you an opportunity to come, meet other men, sort of test the waters, before deciding if you want to commit.

Is Fight Club affiliated with a particular church?

Fight Club is Christian-based but is not affiliated with any particular church, congregation, or denomination.  Fight Club is interdenominational.

I have a physical disability that limits my mobility or affects my ability to physically compete.  Is Fight Club still for me?
Absolutely.  Fight Club will work with you so that you, in your particular circumstances, are challenged physically so you can still experience the joy of challenge and victory.  A disability should never be a reason for a man to avoid Fight Club.

I do not live in or near Valpo.  Is there a Fight Club near me?
Flight Club reaches far beyond the Valpo area.  A list of charters across the country can be found online.

Where can I find more information about Fight Club?

There are several ways to obtain additional information about Fight Club.  Fight Club is online; Fight Club members, including Life Bridge's own Alan Mayernik, will have a Fight Club booth at church services on Sunday; and, you can reach Valpo Fight Club via email.
