Operation Christmas Child Rummage "No Sale" Success!

This past weekend, we hosted our first ever Rummage Sale to benefit Operation Christmas Child.

The OCC team has set a goal of preparing 150 boxes, and covering the shipping fees involved in getting these to the kids.  The goals of this event were to raise awareness of OCC and money to help cover the shipping.  Additionally, by not putting prices on anything, the OCC team trusted God to both provide for the needs of people in our community and meet the financial needs of sending shoe boxes to children around the world.

God never lets us down!  Here are just some of our praises from that day:

  • Praise for the team who planned, organized, and ran this event.  Thanks Teresa Cervik, Cathy Mann, Tim and Sharon Qualkenbush, Laurie Carmichael, Deanna Heslin, and Stephanie Gladney.
  • Praise for young helpers with hauling things and trying to attract attention from Lincolnway. Thanks Hailey Mann, Caden Muir, Lily York, and Josh Kersker.
  • Praise for Dominos who supplied coupons for a free pizza for donations over $15.
  • Praise for the weather holding out until a litttle after 2pm giving us a good 6 hours of rummaging.
  • Praise for the rain, giving reprieve from the heat.
  • Praise for meeting new VU students and their parents as they rummaged!
  • Praise for over $650 coming in to help with getting show boxes to children around the world!
We are continuing to take donations, materially and financially.  Check out this link from OCC to learn more: What is needed to send a shoe box?
