Each year yams prove to be one of the most challenging to collect.  For this reason Life Bridge is collecting yams!  Our goal is to collect at least 200 cans.

So next time you are at the grocery store, pick up a can of yams... or two!
As you do, send of a pray for God to use not only those yams but every food item collected to show His love this Thanksgiving season.

Financial Peace University Off to a Great Start!

Twenty-three people joined in Sunday for Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University.  There was much laughter and conversation.  

Please pray for these people as they continue to learn more about what God wants for their financial lives and build relationships in the upcoming weeks.

College Luncheon Fun!

Our 2nd College Luncheon of the year was a lot of fun!  About 40 of us joined together for our cookout, a quarter of those were college students.  It was an time of good food, and introductions.

We continue to pray for God to use these lunches to build relationship and foster community.

The next luncheon is scheduled for October 12th and will be a Baked Potato Bar.  Watch at the ministry counter for how you can participate!

Turkey Bunco Huge Success!

Sixty-four people gathered for an afternoon of fun!  They played Bunco, made new friends, and supported 500 Turkeys to the tune of over $4100!

A huge thanks to all who made it possible through planning, preparations, and donations... oh yeah, and all who came to play and bid!

Let's not forget to give all praise to God.  He has given the vision and the means that makes all this possible.  Thank You, God, for working through ordinary people to make such a big impact! It is only with a God who does immeasurably more than we ask or imagine that 500 Turkeys hopes to feed 800 families this Thanksgiving!  What an awesome God we serve!

Okay wouldn't it be nice if it was that easy!  In a way it is!  It all begins with one step, and that very well may be attending Financial Peace University hosted by Life Bridge Christian Church beginning this Sunday.  All are welcome!

If you or a loved one is struggling with cancer, this group will be a great blessing to all touched by this disease.

We will gather together to talk about our common threat, CANCER and how God & our faith play a part. This group is open to cancer patients, survivors, care givers and loved ones. We plan to meet together for 15 min for refreshments and scripture. Then we will slip into 2 groups to share, love and serve one another. After 8pm there will be a time to gather and share resources.

First College Luncheon

As I went through this past week, three of my kids began classes (yes, I'm including Pete in that!).  It has been fun hearing their excitement over specific professors, classes they are going to love, or wondering what they have gotten themselves into as they try to figure out assignments and deadlines.  I remember dropping the girls off that first time... I was concerned about how they would do, and how I could help from a distance.  I need not have concerned myself because each school had activities planned from the time they moved in all the way through Labor Day weekend.

As we prepared lunch, we did so with excitement at reaching out and meeting some of our new VU neighbors.

Students Celebrate a Weekend of Service at Inmans!

Our students did a great job of serving this past weekend.  Students helped in preparing a few of our items for coffee bar, made and served breakfast for the Men's Shelter, and then participated on the Worship Team and Coffee Bar!  It was a busy weekend, but God was glorified!

Consider starting your holiday shopping while benefitting this wonderful community cause. Silent Auction bids will only be taken in house during the bunco bash.
