Celebrating Student Luncheons

At the end of a season, it is time to reflect.  As the students return home this week, we get to reflect on our time with them this year and the meals that we have shared.

While initially we set out to offer students a home cooked meal and get to know them better, God has done immeasurably more than we asked or imagined!

The luncheons have grown to regularly feed about 50-70 people every 3 weeks.  Depending on the week about 12 of these are students, many of them friends of the base of students that call Life Bridge home while they are in school.

From the beginning these students have been well received by our church body as members joined us for lunch getting to know one another as well as the students who attended.

It has been great to see such support from the very beginning, but it seems that God had more in mind as He worked to build community throughout Life Bridge.

Mother's Day was our final scheduled student luncheon, and as students wrapped up their semester and families prepared to honor mom, we really did not know what to expect.  While it is impossible to count with people moving around, many believe it was our best attended. The men, who served us, felt as though the line never got shorter.  Nearly all the food was eaten, yet no one went hungry.

Additionally, we watched students become so comfortable at Life Bridge that they were coming over during the day to study and hang out.  Thank You . God. for putting us right across the street!

I pray that God continues to build community at Life Bridge, with our surrounding community, and the students around us.
