Long Way, Short Time

We’re getting ready for a trip to Cincinnati.  It’s our first trip since the Thanksgiving debacle of 2015, so we’re praying, trusting, and preparing to leave.  (Our first minor roadblock has hit already.  The car battery was dead this morning.)  All that being said, we hope to be on the road by the time you read this post. Winking smile

The trip promises to be a lot of travelling in a short time.  We would travel to Cincinnati today, meet with family tomorrow in Northwest Cincinnati for lunch, have dinner Christmas party in Northern Kentucky, and travel back to the West Side to sleep at night.  Anderson University is waiting for my daughter and me by Monday morning.  All in all, we expect to spend a bunch of time on the road.

2016 looks like it is going to be a lot like the trip we are getting ready to take.  God has us implementing twelve teams that don’t exist yet.  The Path will be explained to everyone by Easter.  New website tools continue to be developed on www.LifeBridgeAlive.com to help people walk together with God and empower one more.  Not only that, I continue my schooling, begin work on my Professional Project, and, as a result, will be doing a LOT of reading and writing.  2016 will be taking us a long way in a very short time.

It is during these times that I like to remember the story about a pilot building a house.  As the story goes, the pilot flies an airplane filled with building supplies.  His bomber has a lever that releases all these supplies when he pulls the lever over an open field.  When the supplies hit the ground and the dust settles, a perfectly formed house is revealed.

Working in ministry is much like that story.  When things are busy and parts are moving everywhere, it can seem like a beautiful house came out of random chaos.  On the contrary, though, it wasn’t random or chaos at all.  Everything was under control.  Everything was being formed by God.

In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. (Ephesians 2:21-22 NIV)

Get ready to see His Temple. It’s going to be beautiful.
