I was just going over a list of accomplishments that Tim Qualkenbush wrote down for the Toolbox ministry in 2015. It was a sight to see. Three pages of notes detailed the many, many changes that have taken place in and around our building this year. I couldn’t do anything but smile. God is at work. You can hear about those accomplishments, by the way, at the Valentine Dinner this year. The proceeds from the meal will help support the ministry’s efforts in 2016 the date night will be time well spent in more than one way. I hope to see you all there!
While I was going throug the list, I found my mind “multi-processing.” (I know. Surprise, surprise.) I began thinking about the many, many other ministries who have similar lists for 2015 as well.
Adults, students, and children of all ages have been loved and cared about. They were visited, fed, clothed, sheltered, and generally cared for with their physicial needs. They were gathered, encouraged, taught, baptized, built up into Christ, and drawn into worship to fulfill their need for God. Ministries – lots of ministries – have taken place in 2015 and we should celebrate what God has done in and through His people. So, we will. February’s Sit and Savor Luncheon, with a Chili Showcase theme, will also be a time where we will reflect on what God has done in 2015.
Where there is no vision, the people perish… (Proverbs 29:18 KJV)
2015 may have drawn to a close, but God’s work in and through His people has only begun. Our Chili-lunch together will not only reflect on what God has done, it will also give us a chance to look forward to what God still wants to do with Life Bridge in the upcoming year. I’m looking forward to sharing with all of you this year. It promises to be a different kind of vision meeting. My prayer is that it will be a blessing for us all and spur us forward in God’s Kingdom work. See you there!
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:23-25 NIV)
