You never know what will happen at Ministry Monday

You Never Know What Will
Happen At Ministry Monday's

Last week we asked the questions: "How do we love?",  "Who do we love?" and "Do we love ourselves enough to love others?"  Our plan was to talk about what it was like to serve others in Love.  We had the agenda fine tuned.  Video's, discussion questions, what God says about serving and an activity that was going to be a doozie.  We were going to serve one another by washing each others feet.  The scene was set, the props were displayed, warm water in the pitcher, towels and a comfortable seat.  Jesus washed the disciples feet before the last supper and ultimately giving his life.

Have you ever made plans and they changed JUST LIKE THAT!?  God had a different idea for Feb 25th Ministry Monday.  No ones feet were washed.  They didn't even get wet. We never got to tell the story of how Jesus humbled himself for those he loved.  How he did something that only servants & slaves did back then.  Instead he SHOWED us how to serve others in love and see it in action, not planned or prepared for.

That night, about 25 minutes into the agenda, just before Anna was to share scripture and insight, she fell ill.  She came to me saying she didn't feel well and I noticed in her face that it was more than she let on to be.  She was pail, shivering and weak. We sat her down and began to realize that our agenda had changed.

Instead of sharing about serving others in love, Jesus gave us the opportunity to live it out RIGHT THEN.  As her symptoms began to worsen, I watched in awe at what was taking place.  Two people supported her as she walked, they were her strength.  A couple ladies instantly put hands on her and prayed.  Another got on the phone for medical advise.  Anna decided she would go to an off-hours clinic so one person ran outside to warm up the car and pull it around to pick her up.  Calls were being made to her daughter and she was again, supported to walk as she went to leave.  After she left, the rest of us gathered in a circle.  Holding hands, we prayed.  Some prayed out loud and others silently.  We prayed for Anna's health & provision for that.  We lifted her family and those concerned for her.  We asked God to work a miracle in Anna and through us.

We got to SHOW what it meant to serve in love.  Many people live this out every day and don't realize what a blessing they are to someone.

Anna is getting better and we continue to ask God to improve her health, provide for her needs and give her peace through this journey by trusting in Him.

I encourage you to see God in the little things because to someone, they are HUGE!  Be the smile on someones face.  Offer support before you are asked. Surprise someone each day with a bit of joy.  Be God.

  1. Thank you to all that helped, encouraged and prayed for me. I am feeling better but some complications are still in God's hands.
I am most blessed at how we witnessed the Body of Christ in action, literally being His hands & feet to serve me but more importantly to serve Our Father.
Loving how you serve each other every day.
    Humbled,
    Anna
